We are committed to providing high-quality cleaning services while ensuring transparent policies for our clients. By engaging with Sal Cleaners, you agree to the following Terms of Service, which outline your responsibilities and rights, as well as ours.

Privacy and Information Handling

  • Confidentiality: Sal Cleaners respects your privacy and will not sell, share, or distribute your personal information to third parties. We collect your information solely to enhance our service delivery and ensure quality standards.
  • Data Protection: We take measures to securely store your information and only retain data necessary for business purposes, as per Ontario and Canadian data protection laws.

Media Release Form

To showcase our work and engage with our community, Sal Cleaners may take photos or videos during cleaning sessions for promotional purposes. By booking with us, you acknowledge and consent to the following:

  1. Optional Consent: Participation in any media content (e.g., before-and-after photos, videos) is entirely optional. Clients can opt-out by informing us prior to the service.
  2. Use of Media: Any media content captured will be used exclusively for promotional purposes, including social media, website content, and marketing materials.
  3. Anonymity: Unless explicitly agreed upon, we will ensure that no identifying information (e.g., names, faces, property addresses) is included in public content.
  4. Withdrawal of Consent: Clients can withdraw their consent for future media usage at any time by contacting Sal Cleaners. However, previously published content will not be removed unless it violates privacy agreements.

Service Policies

  • Before and After Photos: Sal Cleaners takes before-and-after photos for each job. These photos are primarily for internal quality control and to protect our business interests by providing proof of service. Photos remain confidential unless a Media Release Form is signed.
  • Cancellation and Refusal of Service:
    • If a client is unwilling to work collaboratively or presents obstacles to completing the job (e.g., refusing entry, imposing unreasonable demands, etc.), Sal Cleaners reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee as outlined in our Cancellation Policy.
    • Cleaners are authorized to leave a job site if they encounter major concerns or safety hazards, such as unsafe conditions, harassment, or other threats. In such cases, a cancellation fee will also apply.

Payment and Refund Policy

  • Securing Bookings and Payment: A valid credit card is required to secure all bookings. Credit cards are charged only upon completion of the service and after client satisfaction is confirmed. We do not offer “cash no tax” options, as we are fully HST-compliant and adhere to all provincial and federal tax regulations.
  • Attempts to Withhold Payment: Any attempt to withhold payment or initiate chargebacks without valid grounds will result in a referral to collections or small claims court, as per Ontario law.
  • Refunds: Refunds are only provided if issues are reported within 24 hours of service completion and if Sal Cleaners management determines that a refund is warranted.

Threats and Safety

  • Zero Tolerance for Threats and Harassment: Any behavior that threatens the safety or well-being of our cleaners or staff will be reported to local authorities. Sal Cleaners will provide all relevant information, including personal details and records, to authorities if necessary.
  • Safety and Right to Refuse Service: Cleaners are authorized to leave a job site immediately if they encounter any major concerns, safety hazards, or feel threatened. Sal Cleaners maintains the right to terminate service on these grounds without refund and apply cancellation fees if appropriate.

Review and Dispute Policy

  • Public Reviews: While we encourage constructive feedback, clients agree to communicate any concerns directly with Sal Cleaners before posting reviews. Defamatory reviews or baseless complaints may be considered slanderous and could constitute a breach under the Ontario Defamation Act.
  • Dispute Resolution: Any disputes between Sal Cleaners and the client will first be addressed internally. If unresolved, disputes will be handled in accordance with Ontario provincial laws and may be referred to small claims court if necessary.

General Legal Provisions (Ontario, Canada)

  • Binding Agreement: By using Sal Cleaners’ services, clients acknowledge that these Terms of Service form a binding contract under Ontario law.
  • Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes, legal proceedings, or claims will fall within Ontario’s jurisdiction.

Bad Weather Policy

  1. Employee and Customer Safety:
    The safety of our cleaners and customers is our top priority. In the event of severe weather (e.g., snowstorms, hurricanes, icy conditions, flooding), we may need to delay, reschedule, or cancel cleaning appointments.
  2. Communication:
    • Customers will be notified as soon as possible if weather conditions impact their scheduled service.
    • Customers are encouraged to contact us if they anticipate that weather conditions may make access to their property difficult.
  3. Flexible Rescheduling:
    If an appointment must be postponed due to bad weather, we will prioritize rescheduling at a time that is convenient for the customer, typically within 1-3 days of the original date, weather permitting.
  4. Road and Travel Conditions:
    Our team will assess road conditions and follow local government warnings or advisories to determine whether it is safe to travel. Services will proceed as scheduled if conditions are safe.
  5. Cancellation Fees:
    No cancellation or rescheduling fees will be charged for appointments affected by bad weather.
  6. Customer Preparedness:
    Customers are responsible for ensuring driveways, walkways, and entrances are safe and accessible (e.g., cleared of snow and ice) to allow our team to perform their duties safely.
  7. Contingency Planning for Extended Disruptions:
    In the case of prolonged bad weather affecting multiple appointments, we may implement temporary extended hours or weekend slots to accommodate rescheduled services.
  8. Emergency Contacts:
    A dedicated phone line or email address will be provided for customers to reach us during bad weather events for updates or concerns.

Changes to Terms

Sal Cleaners reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated directly to clients and reflected on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
